Our Background

I am a retired executive from a business that designed, manufactured and serviced industrial machinery primarily used in the automotive industry.  My background is in mechanical and electrical engineering.  I started my career as a design engineer and recently retired from my position as CEO.  My wife spent her career as a supply chanin manager with 30+ years experience in customer support and sourcing.

Outside of our careers, my wife and I spent much of our spare time renovating homes.  It is something we are passionate about and those who know us know that we are obsessive about details.

(You will also probably figure out from this site that we love spending time with our Golden Retrievers.)

For the past 10 years we have owned a second home in Pinehurst - a home that is over 100 years old.  We found one of the biggest struggles was to get relatively simple things looked after at our home while we were not in town.

When we had little projects that needed to get done, we found that managing contractors from a distance was challenging at best - it seemed like the motto 'out of sight, out of mind' ruled their schedules.  Our biggest frustration over the years has been what seems like the standard operating procedure for many contractors to overbook themselves, trying to secure and juggle as many projects as possible.  The result that we have seen is that projects take much longer to complete than they should, if they ever do get completed.

We also often wasted the first day of our vacation getting our house ready for our stay and the last day of our vacation getting the house ready for us to leave.

Without a doubt these things sometimes took away from our enjoyment of having this great place to escape.

For us, this has come to an end.  Pinehurst is no longer a second home for us as we now live here full time.  We started this business to make it easier for others who are experiencing the 'second home blues' or for local residents who simply have more on their to-do list than they can handle.
